Vikalp Law society started as an effort by the Students of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, to spread basic education/legal awareness among the weaker sections of the society.

Who we are

Established in 2011, Vikalp Law Society, a registered law society under Societies Registration Act of 1860 (Registration No. 807 of 2013), currently comprises of a team of 11 core members and 40 volunteers, which focuses on teaching the kids in the Subhash Nagar slum (Behind Pacific mall) and Kirti Nagar slum (right next to Kirti Nagar Metro station, on the blue line) as a part of our Dr. Kalam Weekend Education Programme.

Our Story

  • 2011

    Our Humble Beginnings

    Vikalp Law Society, a registered law society under Societies Registration Act of 1860 (Registration No. 807 of 2013), currently comprises of a team of 11 core members and 40 volunteers, which focuses on teaching the kids in the Subhash Nagar slum (Behind Pacific mall) and Kirti Nagar slum (right next to Kirti Nagar Metro station, on the blue line) as a part of our Dr. Kalam Weekend Education Programme.

  • National Level Seminars

    We have previously organised a National Level Seminar on Women Rights and an Inter-College debate competition in collaboration with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi

    Legal Workshops in Schools

    We also undertake legal workshops in schools having earlier taken in Bharti Model school, Nawada and Government Senior Secondary all girls school in Subhash Nagar, teaching students the concept of Right to Information, Fundamental rights/Duties, Legal Aid, and Lok Adalat.

  • Cleanliness Drives

    We organise cleanliness drives in different parts of Delhi.
